The Noir City level is square-shaped and is composed of 3 main areas: The Urban sector (left), the Casino sector (middle), and Riverside sector (right). Each one serves as a hub for combat. The Urban and Riverside sectors serve as spawn areas for players, and thus they follow similar design philosophies with having both be open and filled with cover. The cover consists of vehicles, decorative structures, shops, etc… The Casino is the centerpiece of the map. It is a huge 2-floor structure players can traverse fully, and it features a lot closer range combat, especially in the backrooms. There are possibilities for long range engagements as well though, if the player placements are just right. The reason I went with this style of design was to truly give the centerpiece a more distinct feel. If the centerpiece not only looks but also plays differently than everything else outside of it, it will serve better in making it a highlight of the map design. - Pablo Acosta
